Spring Training AZ 2010

Coleton had a great opportunity this year to attend Spring Training in Arizona. If you are not familiar with what happens here, well then you must not follow or love baseball. This is where all the Pros go to train, from teams like the Mariners, Brewers, Dodgers, Padres, Indians and many more. This is where the Managers take a look at the players to determine the final Roster based on their performance.
Our friend Dave and his family travel to Arizona every year to enjoy the warm weather and good baseball. This year Dave decided to take his son and a couple of his friends that shared the passion for the game. Coleton was invited to go. Dave is friends with a few players from different teams, which allows them a little VIP access. Such as free tickets, tours of facilities and locker rooms etc. Coleton was able to bring his own "hook up" into the mix. Justin Sellers, from the Dodgers. After getting everything lined up, we knew Justin would have some tickets for them to go to the Dodgers games. SCORE! What we didnt know was, Justin was going to bring the boys along for early morning workouts, some one on one BP and in field training! It was quite the opportunity for these young men and one they will carry with them forever.

Justin Sellers giving the boys some tips.

Ryan Royster from the Mariners giving the boys a private tour of the facility and the Locker Room. Ryan is from Sacramento and played Ball at UC Davis. He started a company called PPBI, Pro Player Baseball Instruction for youth. The website can be found here.
They have also started a Travel Ball team which Coleton has been invited to play for.

The boys at the Padres stadium.

Watching Manny Parra with the Brewers. Dave is friends with the family. They got the "Hook up" with these awesome hats! Big Manny (Manny Parra's Dad) as the call him, invited them to his hotel to swim in the pool. Cole was very excited about that and also how "Nice" the hotel was and all the amenities. :)

Bob Feller who is a Hall of Fame Legend (pitcher) that had left the game of baseball to join the Navy in WW ll and then later returned to the game. He played in the late 30's, 40's and 50's, with Dave.

This girl in the picture is Manny's girlfriend, Cole had a little thing for her ;) I asked if she was pretty and he had a huge grin on his face and turned a light shade of red. Boys!
More to come!
