Oh what a Saturday

It seemed like this day just kept going on and on, its amazing how much you can cram into one day and yet still not be tired.

Cole had a game at 10am, which was really nice because the weather is PERFECT!
After the game, we met some friends at our favorite little doughnut shop for some fatty doughnuts then it was off to Soccer registration for Taylor.
Then we decided to go to Build-a-Bear and treat her to a gift she has been wanting for a while now.
She chose a Kitty which she named Mikayla....hhhmmm.
We did a little shopping at the mall then it was off to Brett's baseball game.....

I am so lucky

This picture is on my desktop at work. Its the first thing I see when I turn my computer on, or close out a program or when I just feeling like looking at it.
Each time, I am struck by how lucky I am. My Husband is so handsome! Aside from all of the many qualities that I love about him, he really is very good looking. I take it for granted. So I just thought it was worth mentioning today. I am lucky and my husband is Handsome, and I love him more and more every day and not just because he is so good looking. ;)

sniff**sniff

and I miss him when he is gone.

Happy Birthday Madisyn!

As I mentioned before Coleton and Madisyn share the same birthday, so the Sunday before their special day, My sister had a party for our special girl.

Happy 1st Birthday Madisyn!

This is her special cake, all her own, to destroy!

This is the cake all of the adults and kids get to enjoy! It looks like it has been through a mild earth quake. WELL it sort of had, if you call rolling around the back of a Tahoe an earth quake. I would like to mention here for past purpose and any future purpose, cakes are a big deal in our family, aside from the reason we are celebrating, it is a focal point. My sister has bad luck with her relationships with cakes. Im just putting that out there. lol

Shes testing the frosting first, make sure she likes it.....smart cookie.

Well.....I think it passed the test!

OH YEA!!!
The kids lining up for the pinata.....Taylor just kept her spot in line, let everyone else pass her by, she wouldn't budge. She gets a little shy when there is any "type" of pressure put on her, it has to be on her terms in all aspects of that word. So I explained to her that she could hit the pinata and what would happen when it broke, (like she had never seen or done it before) and she simply said, "Mommy, I don't want to hit the Pinata, its not MY birthday" Well fair enough. Just stand there and let everyone else do the work for you, little Missy!
She could not get enough of this water slide! LOVED IT! Anyone that know our little Rosey knows that she is a WATER baby, if its anywhere near her, shes in it some how!

Awww so sweet.....

Love this little Munchkin
Getting tired from a long day of partying......she has a total love affair with this blanket! The best part is when she sees it, she gets all excited and cuddles up to it with her thumb in her mouth! I know thumb sucking is not good but Im totally in love when she does it.......

Bday BBQ!

The week before Coles birthday we had a small birthday BBQ for him.

My niece Madisyn and Cole share the same birthday so we had her Sissy over for a sleepover to give her Mommy a break, so she could prepare for the festivities the next day.

It wouldn't be a a proper BBQ if we didn't have a fight over Wiffle ball rules!

Happy Birthday Cole-Man!!

Today is Coles 12th birthday! In one year he will officially be a teenager.

As I sit back and think about the last 7 + years and how fast it has gone by and how much you are turning into a young man. Im in awe, im amazed.

You introduced me to my biggest passion in life, being a Mother. I am the luckiest person to have been able to have my hand in raising you, teaching you, listening to you, watching you grow into such a wonderful young man. We are truly blessed.

You are such a gem in our family.

So many people live by your example, so many people are inspired by you. You are such a strong being. You never seize to amaze me. Your many talents shine through each day. You have yet to realize what you are truly capable of accomplishing, we call this being humble.

One of our greatest joys is watching you, watching you grow, watching you learn, watching you try and succeed at what you set your mind to. Watching your true and pure athlete show and shine on the field, no matter what field it is, you are an athlete. It runs in your veins and shines like a beacon when you are in action.

We are grateful for the person that you are and all that you are becoming, day by day, you grow and mature into something more beautiful then the day before, and we love you so much!

I Hope You Dance - Leann Womack

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder

You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give fate a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they're worth taking
Lovin' might be a mistake
But it's worth making
Don't let some hell bent heart Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out
Reconsider
Give the heavens above
More than just a passing glance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a wheel in constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their years and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)

I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
Dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a wheel in constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
(Wants to look back on their years and wonder)
I hope you dance
(Where those years have gone)
(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their years and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)

When I went to gather the pictures for this post, I found that I had deleted all of my old pictures off of the computer, long story but I am soooo upset! I will be posting more pictures later. :(

She wants to be just like Daddy.....

or she really thinks she should have been a boy! Last night I was putting her to bed and I noticed a bulge in her pants, that she kept touching and pulling at. So I asked her

me "Taylor, is everything ok?"

taylor "Yes Mommy"

me "Then what is in your pants?"

taylor "Oh that......'

So I take a little peep, and she has Daddy's baseball cup (correctly) in her pants.

She giggles, and hops in bed.

No big deal.

taylor "Good night Mommy, I love you"

me...."Ummmmm"

me..."Why did you have this in your pants?"

taylor...."because....thats where it goes Mommy"

me..."Oh right....well honey, you wont be playing baseball tonight while you are sleeping, so Im pretty sure you can part with it for now, and this is Daddy's, and its a little big for you, and even though its Daddy's we dont want to share cups, ok"

taylor...."ok....giggle....can we buy me one tomorrow? a pink one?"

me...."We will talk about it tomorrow..."

A wish list....

Coles 12th birthday is in a couple weeks, May 20th. So last night we were having a little chat about whats going on for his birthday. As I mentioned before, every year we have a party for the kids, Cole has had a birthday party every year of his life, he is one celebrated kid! We love him. So this year we were going to change it up a little. We decided he could invite a couple friends and we were going to Dream Xtreme to ride the wave! (Flowrider) Over a couple weeks I noticed the couple friends plan progressing into yet another party, us not wanting to leave anyone out.
Yesterday we were invited to go to Pismo for the weekend for Memorial (the weekend after his birthday). Oh that sounds FUN! Everything our family loves to do jam packed in a weekend of fun! A condo on the beach, longboarding, skimboarding, surfing, basking in the sun, yummy food, the beach, sand (ok thats not always total fun) good company! We are there!
So my fabulous husband had a fabulous idea. No birthday party in exchange for a weekend getaway doing the real thing, riding the wave. Brilliant! even more brilliant, Cole agrees!
I had asked him to present his wish list to me for his birthday. Ironically these were the things on his list.

This doesn't tie into the whole weekend but he asked for a pellet gun. Such a boy!

So I think it was meant to be, and I think he is going to be way excited about his gift!
