Beginning with Turf Wars......

Many of you remember or have met our good friend Doug Tolson. Many of you know our Good friend Doug Tolson or may call him a friend of your own.

I will start with a little history of our relationship. About 4 years ago we moved to West Sacramento for a few reasons of which I wont mention here, only because I will get off track. A few years prior to that move we were drawn to West Sac. We had family there and spent allot of time there. We started house hunting and were looking to buy. Zack went to look at a house that turned out to be a "fixer upper" and way too small but had potential. Anyway, he met a guy that just bought a house around the corner in the same situation. A "fixer upper" just a little too small for a family of 5 but ALLOT of potential. This man my husband met had the means of making his dream a reality. His lifes work his passion is his business (among many other things), a construction company by the name of "Tolson Construction". Fast forward a few years. We now live in West Sac and becoming involved more in the community. We are making friends allot of which are through Little League, where a majority of our time is spent. That particular year Coleton had to "Try out" in hopes of being drafted to a Majors team. He was on the borderline, he could play another year in AAA or possibly catch someones eye during his try out and be drafted to Majors. Either way we would be Happy. We get the call Cole was drafted to the Dodgers and his new Coach is none other than Doug Tolson. We were pleased and the rest is History.

This family has come to be one of our favorite past times and one that we find we run to when the going gets tough or if we simply just need a smile. They, each and every one of them, have come to be very dear friends to us. And you see I got sidetracked anyway.
A few months ago Doug was approached to be apart of a new and upcoming show on the DIY network called Turf Wars. You may be familiar with the Host Ahmed Hassan from Yard Crashers. Or you may find that you hang out at the local hardware/Home improvement store in the mere hopes that you will stumble across this man while strolling the aisles with your bag of mulch. Soon to find your yard gloriously transformed by a professional landscape contractor. This has in a way been Dougs experience. He stumbled across this invitation soon to be in a whirlwind of a fabulous experience and allot of hard work. More of which will come in the upcoming months, but, for now, we will start with.....Turf War.

This exerpt is taken directly from their website:
Ahmed Hassan is the judge and jury in a show that pits neighbors against each other to make the best yard on the block. Two teams, each led by Ahmed's landscape experts, use the same batch of materials and the same time frame to transform their yards. Ahmed is there offering advice, constructively criticizing, and at times jumping in to help. In the end, Ahmed (with input from other neighbors) decides who got the better result, but viewers get to see two amazing transformations.

A sneak peek can be found here.

We all must tune in to the DIY network THIS Monday MARCH 8TH at 8:00 pm. To watch our friend Doug transform someones backyard.
